It all began with a feeling that something wasn't right. Too many children were growing up without protection, without support, without access to education or health care. A group of young people from Avé decided they could no longer do nothing.

A Togolese nonprofit born from the communities it serves
Founded on October 18, 1998 by young people from the Avé Prefecture who refused to accept the conditions they saw around them. Independent, non-political, and rooted in respect for local cultures.
To support underprivileged children by giving them access to education and essential healthcare. To walk alongside vulnerable communities — providing prevention, awareness, and access to basic health services. To stand with girls and young women so they can improve their living conditions, find their place in society, and move forward with dignity, strength and hope.

Our association works across approximately 1,146 km², home to nearly 120,000 people. This is where our actions come to life — close to the communities we serve.

Community Health Center — Kpotamé
Access to healthcare remains a major challenge in Kpotamé and surrounding rural communities. Many households travel long distances to access basic medical consultations, prenatal and postnatal care, child vaccinations, and emergency healthcare.
To address this critical gap, APED has identified the construction of a Community Health Center in Kpotamé as the strategic priority for 2026–2028.
